Abstract. The works of Russian classics have always interested the Chinese audience. These were: Pushkin, Lermontov, Ostrovsky and other writers and poets. Excerpts from Ostrovsky's novel «How the Steel was Tempered» are part of the compulsory school curriculum. The novel in verse «Eugene Onegin» by Pushkin was translated into Chinese many times, and based on this work, performances were repeatedly staged in theaters in China. This paper provides a list and a brief description of monuments to famous Soviet and Russian persons in China. The characteristic of some of their works is given.
