Memory as part of cultural identity
(on the basis of the image of “sovietness” in Russian cinema)
Abstract. The article describes the dynamics of representing the image of “sovietness” in Russian cinema. Different memory types, related to personal and collective cultural identity formation, are investigated. The relevance of the study is due to the necessity of developing comprehensive understanding of Russian culture of the twentieth century and preserving cultural memory as part of intangible cultural heritage.

Key words: Identity, memory, cinema, “sovietness”, cultural code, intangible cultural heritage.
