UDC 791.43.03 Mazur L. «Village cinema» of 1950-1980-ies as historical and cultural phenomenon of the Soviet era Abstract. The article discusses issues related to the characteristic of «village cinema» as a special artistic movement that was developed in 1950-1980-ies. Its main features are marked out: genre peculiarities, themes, imagery, basic mythology. Analysis of features of the village cinema is carried out in comparison with the «village literature». That was done to emphasize their common origin and ideological meaning, on the one hand, and features of artistic reflection of reality, on the other.
