Abstract. The problems of creating a quality cultural environment are becoming the subject of increasing attention from state, scientific and public institutions and organizations. The multifactorial process of the formation of the cultural environment makes it necessary to use special methods and models. Thanks to them, it is possible to more effectively solve the problems of optimizing space in order to preserve objects of cultural and natural heritage – these key factors in the quality cultural environment of a small city or rural settlement.
