The authors reveal the relationship of the tourism sector with the preservation and strengthening of the civilizational identity of the regions of Russia. Specific examples are given, issues of development of domestic tourism in the short term are considered, a scheme of the historical and cultural tourist cluster of the Chechen Republic is presented.
