and his correspondence with I.S.Zilberstein Abstract. The publication is dedicated to the first years of existence and work of the editorial office of the academic series «Literary Heritage». Fragments of S.A. Makashin’s oral memories and his correspondence with I.S. Zilberstein shows the relationships between the authors and editorial office, as well as between editorial office and state and party institutions at a time, when the «Literary Heritage» takes its «first», but very purposeful and successful steps.
