''Lords of DOOM'': how do computer games change the cultural landscape

Abstract. In his review on the book by the American writer and researcher of modern mass culture and computer technology David Kushner the author considers the story of the creation of the popular computer game «DOOM» and the impact that it has had on the contemporary culture.

Key words: mass culture, the history of popular culture, video games, interactive entertainment, computer technology, electronic culture, digital culture, E-culture.
