Historical and cultural image of traditional family: merchants Kuprijanovs from Bogorodsk (Part 1)

Abstract. The memoirs of three generations of Kupriayanov merchants’ family from the town of Bogorodsk (now Noginsk), Moscow region, form the basis of the article. The documents show history and everyday life of the family members, their traditional spiritual and social values that developed the resources of adaptation to the changing world.

Key words: Culture, family, the Russian merchants, traditional values, everyday life, the Orthodox church, family cultural capital.
