UDC 902.6+902.97:293 Okorokov A. Kulagin A. Ship anchor as an ancient symbol of faith and hope Abstract. This article describes the types of ancient anchors in connection with religious rituals and performances, shows the history of the most interesting and significant findings that reveal the symbolic role of anchor mostly in the mythology of ancient civilizations, in the era of the birth of Christianity and later eras.
