Abstract. The original model of a world axis of culture of mankind is presented in article. Within this model the place and functions of the Russian sociocultural space and the Russian civilization is considered. The author comes to a conclusion that the Russian sociocultural tradition is the cornerstone of formation of a new human civilization which in a geopolitical context is ready to cooperation and the productive competition to European civilization. The author offers absolutely new models of consideration of geopolitical processes. For this purpose the author gives own interpretations to already existing concepts, such as «culture», «policy», «geopolitics», «civilization», and enters new – «diastol», «an axis of world culture». As a result the theoretical model of movement of the centers of world culture which explains formation of sources of geopolitical activity in the history and the present is built.
