Abstract. The cultural origins of the Art Nouveau style are contained, among other things, in the scientific works of botanists, entomologists, lepidopterists and oceanologists. Art Nouveau style symbolized the idea of finding a better life filled with harmony, beauty and the highest meaning of knowledge and respect for all life. The development of science, in particular – biology, one way or another had a serious impact on the formation of the artistic style of the era of the turn of the 19-20 centuries. The understanding of the cultural heritage associated with the Art Nouveau style consists in revealing the specifics of the mutual influence of science and art of the considered era.
