UDC 008:001.8 Osipova N. Application of Structural Semiotic Methodology in the Humanities Abstract. The article deals with the basic principles of the structural semiotic method and a possibility of its use in cultural studies. The author describes its basic concepts, outlines the main schools and trends, the spectrum of problems that can be understood within the boundaries of categories such as cultural text (everyday culture, art, modern mythology, etc.). Also the article shows possibilities of integrating this method with other methodological approaches.
