Abstract. Interpretations of the notions of people and popular culture in the Russian conservative thought are analysed on the base of the use of such notions as Russian people, Russian suprapeople, and Russian popular culture in the works of philosophers and analysts of the 19th and the 20th centuries (prerevolutionary thought, Russian Emigration writers). The author also addresses attempts to continue discourse on people and popular culture within the framework of the Soviet Marxism and finalises the article with comparative reviewing notions of people and popular culture in Western and Russian conservative thought.
