An outline of the system of the cults and believes of ryukyu/okinawa -- within the context of japanese religious notions (Part 2)

Abstract. The article outlines traditional religious and cultic world of Ryukyu/Okinawa in which the Author distinguishes six main complexes: (1) priestesses cult; (2) shamanism; (3) funerary (mortuary) cult and ancestor cult; (4) cults of visiting deities and mummers' plays; (5) cults of domestic and estate deities; (6) communal rites of ritual purification.
