UDC 316.422(47):37.01 Zhukova O. Cultural and Political Vector of Russian Modernisartion: Cultural Values within the Educational System Abstract. The article deals with cultural aspects of modernisation with regard to historic specificity, cultural and spiritual heritage, and the actual state of the Russian political system. The author stresses the need of conceptualising the notion of culture within the general political and economic discourse of modernisation. This task raises special challenges in the field of the state cultural and educational policies, which should be oriented towards a synergic work with civil society and its social institutions.
