Abstract. The article discusses the practical application of preventive conservation methods for the preservation of archaeological finds from the unique medieval monument of the Murom tribe, located in the Vachsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. During the expedition, the method of creating a microenvironment in sealed containers was tested in practice, fluctuations in environmental parameters (temperature and humidity) were recorded, a new material (polystyrene) was tested, which was used instead of paper to create archaeological passports.
