Construction of the Design History and Its Practices

Abstract. The article discusses a range of theoretical, methodological, and empirical approaches to the construction of design history within the context of political history and consumption practices and in relation to the study of visual and everyday culture. The author considers necessity of historisation not only of the design object, but also of its production practices. The state of the Soviet design history research is reviewed.
