UDC 291.13''311/313'' Vashchenko А. Two-Faced Janus or, the Mythology of the Old and the New Abstrct. The author argues that transition from the Old to the New can be interpreted in terms of mythology, through the phenomenon of the threshold, the so-called “Janus syndrome”, involving the moments of crisis, and is manifested in the social and individual spheres, including language, the dichotomy of tradition vs. innovation, and memory.
