Buddhism in Russia through the prism of old photos

Abstract. The review describes the album published by the famous Russian Buddhist and Tibetan scientist A.A.Terentyev in St. Petersburg in 2014. It contains old photographs, which are accompanied by comments, archival documents and eyewitness accounts.

Key words: Russian history of the twentieth century, Buryatia, Tuva, Kalmykia, mass repression, Buddhism, spiritual heritage, Buddhist temples.
