Abstract. The article reveals the historical periods and methods of artistic acculturation of the pipe organ in China from the time of its appearance in the early 17th century to the present. The author substantiates the idea of a certain «correspondence» of the spirit of traditional Western organ music to the culture of China: both are majestic, beautiful, and connected with a philosophical attitude in world perception. The article describes the growing interest in the organ in China in the 21st century, the role of the electronic organ as a kind of catalyst for the development of organ culture, the importance of the emerging independent school of composers and organ performers, which have received worldwide recognition, and emphasizes the active inclusion of the organ in the educational and festive social space due to the great support of the state in organizing culture.
