Civilizational identity and local context: strategies of modern cultural
and educational policy
Abstract. Using a culturological attribution of the fundamental ideas of university education, this article compares the local contexts of Russian and European civilizational identities. While European strategy aims to suppress the local context in the interests of the dominant culture, in Russia, regional culture informs the humanities of higher education.
