Abstract. Russia and Vietnam have been strengthening their cultural relations through the promotion of cultural heritage. Museums play a significant role in the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries by participating in bilateral cultural diplomacy initiatives. These activities are implemented through the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, the Vietnam–Russia Friendship Association, the Russian Center for Culture and Science, as well as various cultural organizations, including the framework of the Year of Culture, major holidays, and festivals. This article identifies the unique characteristics of museum diplomacy in Vietnam and Russia within their specific historical and cultural contexts. It analyzes the regulatory framework and key aspects of museum cooperation between the two countries. The soft power of museums contributes to the development of cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation. The article emphasizes the importance of museums as active actors in cultural diplomacy. Museum diplomacy is demonstrated through joint exhibition projects between Russia and Vietnam. The study analyzes selected examples of museum cooperation in exhibition activities aimed at promoting cultural, historical, and contemporary artistic heritage. Leading institutions such as the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Vietnam National Museum of History, the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of Political History of Russia, and the National Museum of Oriental Art play an important role in promoting national images, enhancing mutual awareness, and fostering closer relations between the two nations.
