Art collections in university natural science museums:<br>features of formation and exhibition

Abstract. This article examines the development and display of art collections in the natural science museums of Russia's largest universities — the St.Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the Russian State Agrarian University — K.A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy”. The article analyzes the goals, objectives, and methods of acquiring fine and applied arts, as well as approaches and principles for displaying artwork in natural science exhibitions.
