Abstract. The book under consideration History at the Border of the XX–XXI cc.: Social Theories and Historiographical Practices (Moscow, 2011) is written by Lorina Repina. The reviewer analyses scholarly approaches of the author to evaluation of contemporary historical methods in Russian and foreign historiography and new trends in the studies of the Past that reveal focusing historical knowledge on constitutive role of culture. The stress is put on the “cultural turn” that characterises contemporary historiography and related changes in themes and topics of historical studies, which are of fundamental importance for the progress of historical cultural research (historical culturology).
