Methods of Conceptualising the Style Inheritance <br>in the History of Culture

Abstract. The article analyses limitations in conceptualising artistic style as a cultural phenomenon. The author addresses the issues of dynamics of the big artistic styles, evaluates their sustainable features and principles of representation, and proposes structural principles for description of artistic styles on the base of traditional and innovative elements’ ratio.
